we (Lena Maria Huber and Hauke Licht) are inviting applications for two positions in our third-party funded research project Group Appeals in Parliamentary and Electoral Debates (GAPED) starting February 1, 2026, based at the University of Innsbruck and the MZES, University of Mannheim:
Postdoctoral Researcher – Computational Text Analysis
The postdoc will be based in Innsbruck and take a leading role in developing and applying computational methods (including deep learning and NLP approaches) to analyze parliamentary debates and election campaigns. Applicants should hold a PhD in political, social, or communication science or computational linguistics and have demonstrable experience with quantitative methods and programming in Python and/or R.

Predoctoral Researcher (PhD Candidate) – Survey Experiments
The predoc will be based in Mannheim and focus on designing and implementing survey experiments related to political communication and representation. Candidates should hold an above-average master’s degree in political science, have very good quantitative methods skills, and be proficient in R.
